Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said the bombing "underlines the enormous importance" of having the Australian troops in Iraq. "Without them we would have to close the embassy," he said. "We would not be able to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqis or negotiate wheat contracts."

Oh, it's the wheat! Of course!
